I want this because I need to take better care of my teeth and this would motivate me to do so.
Brushing is a chore and like any chore every second you are brushing feels like 5 minutes. i like that the timer ensures that I do not underbrush. i also like that the cleaning power of the brush itself will allow me to visit the dentist less often for a $100 cleaning.

I would like to win this because both my Grandfather & Father had to have ALL their teeth pulled by the time they were in their 40′s due to severe gum disease & periodontal issues which I’m trying to avoid by Great oral care. I want to win because I am always trying my best to teach my son how important his teeth are. My teeth were removed a year ago however, I faithfully brushed and flossed all the time. Unfortunately, my salivary glands and my teeth were horribly damaged by radiation treatment for cancer. If I had not taken such good care of my teeth, I would have lost them long ago. Frankly, I ~HATE~ the dentures and I mean hate. I am always bringing up the importance of dental health and while what happened to me could not be avoided & was out of my control, I can hopefully make an impression and help my son avoid losing his teeth some day. It would be great to win this Sonicare toothbrush for my daughters (ages 9 & 10), who are not always eager or thorough when they brush their teeth. I’ve caught my youngest just sticking the toothbrush in her mouth and pretending that she was finished brushing. “It doesn’t do any good if you don’t put the bristles on your teeth and scrub,” I told her. I think that with the Sonicare, if she just sticks it in her mouth and the bristles are doing their thing, then maybe I can still get her to save her teeth for the future. My eldest has been asking me to get a Sonicare since her last check-up, for which she had a very aggressive cavity in one of her permanent teeth. She was so bummed out! “It’s not fair!” she said, “I brush every morning and every night. Why me?” Okay, girl, either we win the prize or I save up some money and find coupons to get one. I’m workin’ on it. Actually, it was the coupon link on a Bing search that brought me to this blog. I’ve signed up to the newsletter, because we really need some help with this. We all thought we were doing everything we were supposed to do to keep our teeth healthy and free of cavities.

When I was a child growing up it seemed like every older person I knew either had false teeth of partial plates. I vowed that would never happen to me. And that’s why I would like to win the Sonicare.

My dental hygienist recommends an electric or battery operated toothbrush, she says they get the teeth much cleaner and less plaque.
